Summary on Duties on Hardwood Plywood Imports from Vietnam
The U.S. Department of Commerce is set to issue its final determination on the anti-circumvention inquiry of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on hardwood plywood imports from Vietnam. These anti-dumping duty rules could lead to up to 37 Vietnamese companies facing high duty rates. The DOC reviewed three production scenarios involving veneer sheets produced in China, with two systems identified as circumventing duties. A total of 24 companies did not cooperate, and 13 provided incomplete responses, leading to adverse determinations. The 37 companies facing the highest potential duty rates will also be ineligible for the self-certification mechanism.
“According to the final determination, the 37 Vietnamese companies mentioned above face the highest potential duty rates, 183.36% for anti-dumping duties and 22.98% for countervailing duties, based on the information provided.”
